Do Unto Others
In everything do to others as you would have them do to you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Other teachers had taught the negative form: do not do what you hate. Jesus flipped it positive and declared it the summary of the law and the prophets.
The negative version can be kept from a couch, harming no one and helping no one. Jesus' version demands initiative: actively do for others what you wish someone would do for you. It converts every unmet need you have ever felt into an instruction.
Think of what you wish someone would do for you this week, the call, the encouragement, the practical help, and go do exactly that for someone else. Your wishlist is your to-do list.
