Sitting with Jesus

Jesus visited the home of two sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha rushed around the kitchen, busy, busy, busy, trying to make everything perfect. Mary sat down at the feet of Jesus and simply listened to him.

Martha got frustrated. Lord, tell my sister to come help me! But Jesus answered gently, Martha, Martha, you are worried about so many things. Only one thing is really needed. Mary chose it, and it will not be taken away from her.

Being busy is not bad. But the best thing of all is being with Jesus. That is what you are doing right now, in this quiet moment. Call it Mary time.

Mary has chosen the better thing, and it will not be taken away from her.
