Jesus teaches us to pray

The disciples watched Jesus pray, and they wanted to learn. Lord, teach us to pray, they asked. So Jesus gave them a prayer so simple that kids all over the world have prayed it for two thousand years.

You do not need fancy words to talk to God. The prayer Jesus taught covers everything. It praises God, asks for what we need today, says sorry, forgives other people, and asks for help to do what is right.

Prayer is not a performance. It is talking with your Father in heaven, who loves the sound of your voice.

Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. May your kingdom come, and may what you want be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today the bread we need. Forgive us, as we forgive others. And keep us safe from evil.
