The wise builder

Jesus loved to teach with stories. Here is one about two builders. A wise man built his house on solid rock. A foolish man built his house on soft sand.

Then a storm came. Rain poured, rivers rose, and wind slammed against both houses. The house on the rock stood strong. The house on the sand crashed flat.

Jesus said the rock is hearing his words and doing them. Not just knowing what Jesus said, but living it. Every time you do what Jesus taught, you are building your life on rock. Storms will still come, but you will stand.

Everyone who hears my words and does them is like a wise builder who built a house on rock. The rain fell and the wind blew, but the house did not fall.
